About Poros

Poros is the closest residential suburb to Heraklion's old harbour, about 600 m from the port and a 15-minute walk to the city centre, sitting beside the Koules fortress and the Venetian Arsenali shipyards. It is a long-established, down-to-earth neighbourhood of apartments and older townhouses with local tavernas, schools and supermarkets, very few foreign owners, and an authentic year-round community. Property is among the most affordable in the city (~€1,700–€2,100/m²), making it attractive for value-focused buy-to-let investors and relocators who want to be steps from the port and centre. Rental demand is steady and non-seasonal, with realistic gross yields around 4–4.5%.
